Helen Shapiro – London, 78

Even though Helen Shapiro is a wealthy and famous singer now, she was born and raised in London. Her family struggled to get by, so much that they couldn’t afford to get her a record player despite knowing her passion for the subject.

Somehow, Shapiro did what she had to do and went on to release her debut single “Don’t Treat Me Like a Child” at 14. It even made it to UK No. 3. After releasing her solo music, including the major hits “You Don’t Know” and “Walkin’ Back to Happiness” for several decades, the now 78-year-old has been a member of the Hebron trio since 2015.
