With an established name and two Australian Film Institute Awards under her belt, Kerry Armstrong, who is now in her 60s, will no longer accept roles that depict mean-spirited or shallow-minded women. Call it pride, but according to Armstrong, she’s at a place in her life and career where young people are looking up to her for inspiration, and she’s going to honor that.

That, though, wasn’t the actress’s position during her early professional years. As long as she liked a script, she would accept any role she was offered, even if she felt disdain towards it. Armstrong, who currently lives in Yarra Valley with her three children, is also an author.
