Sally Ann Howes – London, 91
Hailing from a family of elite actors and directors, the grande dame of Broadway, Sally Ann Howes, was destined for the stage. Blessed with stunning looks and a golden voice, Howes began performing her way into our hearts from the age of twelve. Her transition from an English beauty to America’s darling happened with replacing Julie Andrews in My Fair Lady as Eliza Doolittle.
Sadly, post the ‘60s, when Broadway productions started becoming a thing of the past, Howes took three decades to return to the stage. At 91, the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang star is semi-retired and enjoys being an artistic advisor for the Theatre Guild in Florida!
