According to her friend Mia, Elin wasn’t initially interested in Woods. He was a champion with a cult following and a true inspiration for every golf fan. To Elin, though, he was just another man wearing khakis, swinging a stick for a living, and pressuring the Paverniks to get her on a date.

Woods was different, though. Extremely competitive and accustomed to winning, he was determined to get Elin’s attention. After one year of asking to meet the Paverniks’ stunning Swedish nanny, Woods landed a date. Naturally, he did all he could to impress her. They met in 2001 and became engaged in 2003.
