While most contractors won’t consider hiring a proofreader for construction projects, they might have a second opinion when they see this. Was the worker talking on the phone or severely distracted while painting this? He could have just taken a look at the stop sign to know the spelling.

The funny spelling would have the drivers more distracted than ever and miss the pothole altogether. We hope the parking lot management repainted it and made it safe for the other drivers. Hopefully, there wouldn’t be any accidents because the STOP sign did the opposite of what it was supposed to portray.
