Tom Richards – Age 73, Matlock Police
Tom Richards is a familiar face in Australian television soap operas, especially in the seventies and eighties. Like most actors, the star started with stage roles at Brisbane’s Twelfth Night Theatre, where he performed in plays like 1971’s ‘The Rose and the Ring.’ From there, he sought better opportunities in Melbourne and got cast in television shows like ‘Division 4’ and ‘Homicide.’
Hard work indeed pays, and before long, Tom landed the prominent role of portraying Detective Steve York in ‘Matlock Police.’ After the series got canceled, more excellent doors opened, and he appeared as David Palmer in ‘Sons and Daughters.’ The star has held on to his passion for acting and still hits the theater occasionally.
