With only six World Cup appearances under its belt, Colombia just missed qualifying for the Qatar 2022 tournament by emerging at number six in the qualification of the 10-team CONMEBOL group. When the Los Cafeteros went for the intense competition in Russia in 2018, the team lost to England in the round of 16 on penalties after finishing in a tie of 1-1 full-time.
