Richard Wilkins: Auckland, New Zealand – 67
Few people know that Richard Wilkins started off as an aspiring singer. Touring nationwide in Australia, he even released a few singles, of which more notable was the top-30 single ‘You’re Not Alone’ made for the ‘National Olympics’ team, sung alongside other artists.
It was after leaving the music industry, however, that Wilkins came towards his lifelong career. He started working behind the scenes in Sydney radio stations ‘2UW’ and ‘2DAY FM.’ It was here that his luck picked him up, and made him a successful radio and television presenter for programs like ‘MTV Australia’ and ‘Entertainment Tonight.’ Currently attached with the ‘Nine Network’ as the entertainment editor, Wilkins co-hosts Weekend Today alongside Rebecca Maddern.
