Wayne Gardner: New South Wales – 62
Wayne Gardner began racing when he was 18 years old, and his most notable achievement was winning the 1987 World Cup of the 500cc Motor World Championship. The former professional motorcyclist and Grand Prix racer was so good that he became the first Australian to win this top category.
His success in the world of motor racing earned him the nickname “Wollongong Whiz,” and his talent as a successful racer rubbed off on his two sons, Remy and Luca, who are also motorcyclists. Following his racing career, Wayne went into showbiz, starring in films like ‘Australian Survivor’ and a documentary about himself titled ‘Wayne.’
