Although she began her acting in an upcoming amateur theater company in Sidney, her acting career was properly launched in 1982 when she appeared in ‘Sons and Daughters.’ She later bagged a bigger role as Nurse Zelda Baker in ‘The Young Doctors,’ and she was on an upward trajectory from there.
Being gifted in both acting and music saw her winning several accolades for her roles. In 2008 she took home the Helpmann Award for Best Female Actor in a Musical for her role in ‘Billy Elliot the Musical.’ When she is not in the limelight, she prefers to live her life quietly, enjoying the wealth amerced from her soap opera career.
