Judy Davis: Perth – 66
Judy Davis is thankful for the opportunity to join Australia’s film industry in the ’80s, when it was still in its infant stages, allowing her to experiment and make mistakes without harsh judgment. Despite being a newbie then, the ‘King Lear’ performer still got an Oscar nomination in 1984.
It’s been more than 31 years since that nomination, and Davis has since added more than 15 awards to her list of accomplishments. Those, though, don’t mean much to the actress as she would rather have a say over productions she’s involved in than fame. Apart from acting, Davis now also doubles as an executive producer.
