Presidential Recognition

Early in 2022, she was recognized by the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, who sent her a handwritten New Year’s greeting card. She has been loving the attention her title brings her. But in an interview on her 118th birthday with the news agency AFP (Agence France-Presse), she wished for something more.

She said she had always been admired because of her intelligence and wisdom, but people don’t care about that anymore because she’s stubborn. She even talked about quitting the nun business.
