Rachel Maddow’s career in the media started when she won a competition to host a morning radio show in Massachusetts. Her current TV show, The Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC, is a direct port of a radio show she hosts, where she analyses and discusses daily news stories.

Maddow is renowned for being the first openly lesbian host of a prime time news show. She has also authored a New York bestselling book called Drift: The Unmooring of American Military Power. In October 2019, Maddow published her second book, Blowout: Corrupted Democracy, Rogue State Russia, and the Richest, Most Destructive Industry on Earth.
