Avoid A Spillover
For the cool factor alone, this trick is worth trying out. But if by chance you don’t have a tight lid for all the bowls and pots you own, or the lids are just not tight enough to keep the boiling broth or liquid from pouring over, then it comes in handy.
Get a wooden spoon and place it directly on the center of the boiling pot. Like magic, the bubbles will subside and there wouldn’t be any spillovers. This works because the wood is an insulator, and since it doesn’t conduct heat, the bubbles break up upon contact with it.
