John Wayne – $3.95M, California

John Wayne was starring in different box office hits for about three decades. He lived a great life and his house in California definitely allowed him to have a good night’s rest daily. When his residence was sold, the new owners made it go through major home remodeling.

They kept a lot of the original features of the house but they were able to give it a modern touch. In 2013, the home was on the market with a $3.95 million price tag. Wayne was 72 years old when he passed away back in 1979 due to stomach cancer.

We can only imagine how good it must have felt to be a guest of the highly-regarded Hollywood actor Al Pacino. To become the ultimate host, Al bought a whole separated house to serve as a guesthouse. But it’s not just any house: it’s a luxurious 4,340 square-foot mansion sitting right next to the Hudson River!

Probably tired of treating his guests in such an overly nice manner, the Scarface star listed the New York mansion in 2012. The original asking price of $4.4 million was reduced to $3.3 million after the first year on the market.
