Maurice Benard – Age 57 – General Hospital

Maurice Benard was lucky in his acting career because his debut performance in All My Children was well-received. It opened many doors for him, which eventually led to him landing the role of Sonny Corinthos in General Hospital. His performance even won him two Daytime Emmy Awards and three Soap Opera Digest Awards.

When Benard was 22, he found out he was bipolar. He immediately got bipolar treatment and became a spokesperson for it. They made his character Sonny battle the disorder in the soap as well, and people praised how real their depiction of the condition was. As of 2021, Benard still appears in the soap opera.
