The Who

The Who were probably heading towards their career’s peak at that time. That year, they had just released their fourth album called Tommy. As part of their tour, they wound up playing at Woodstock. However, this picture was not actually taken during the festival.

It was taken all the way over the Atlantic Ocean, in London, U.K. It was even used as the cover for their The Who at the London Coliseum CD and DVD, released in 2009. Although it’s not at Woodstock, it was taken in that very year, 1969, and depicts perfectly their exceptional performances on-stage.
