Joan Armatrading – Age 70

Known for her impressive songwriting and guitar playing, Joan Armatrading honorably accepted the 2020 Women of the Year lifetime achievement award in the United Kingdom. She’s gone a long way since she flew by herself to Birmingham from Antigua at only seven. In fact, she’s considered the first globally successful female singer-songwriter from Britain!

The three-time Grammy nominee, who has also been a two-time Best Female Artist BRIT Awards nominee, has 19 albums so far. The last one she released was titled Not Too Far Away in 2018. As per The Guardian, she’s been making music during the lockdown, so we might get a new album from Armatrading soon.
