Malcolm Hebden – Coronation Street – Age 81

We first saw Malcolm Hebden on the cobbles in 1972 when he played Carlos. Audiences fell in love with him, though, when he became a regular Corrie cast member as the beloved newsagent Norris Cole. So, it’s no surprise that many soap viewers were sad to hear about Hebden’s departure from Coronation Street in 2021.

The decision came around four years after he suffered a near-fatal heart attack. But while he was able to return after undergoing an operation, the two-time British Soap Award winner realized that his body was no longer up to the task of working on set.
