You Never Saw Me Here

Here’s another primate disguising itself as an accessory. This time though, the marmoset monkey is also an accessory in another sense of the word. It seems aware that it isn’t meant to be in a Walmart and gives the picture-taker a warning look as if to say, “Put that down. You never saw me here.”

This shopper might want to be more careful, though. There are plenty of scientists who would want to take the marmoset off her hands, given the species’ demand for studies. The tiny monkeys have been particularly useful in research related to anti-aging drugs such as rapamycin.
