Kris Kristofferson was a key player in creating the Outlaw Country sub-genre alongside other country greats Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, and Waylon Jennings. He was also responsible for songs like Sunday Mornin’ Comin’ Down and For the Good Times, which he didn’t make hits, but other artists did.
Kristofferson also dabbled in acting, with some notable roles in films like 1974’s Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore, and the 1976 version of A Star Is Born, which won him a Golden Globe Award. He has also won three competitive Grammy’s for his music and received a Lifetime Achievement Award.
