Eileen Derbyshire, 89, Born In 1931 – Coronation Street

It’s hard not to associate Eileen Derbyshire with Emily Bishop. After all, she portrayed the part for an unbelievable 55 years (1961-2016) in the long-running series Coronation Street. Since she left, speculations about her return, especially in time for the show’s 60th anniversary, surfaced.

Many fans and reportedly even her costars were very excited about her rumored role reprisal. In 2019, they finally saw her, although just through a Skype call for Ken Barlow’s (William Roache) birthday. That was the last time we had heard from Derbyshire, and it seemed that she had taken the time to enjoy life out of the limelight.
