But it was when a theatrical agent spotted the prodigy at the Connaught Rooms that his prospects of striking it rich through the art skyrocketed. This became his one-way ticket to nationwide recognition.

Although the star faced many setbacks in his romantic life, his professional one continued to flourish! It was at the moment when Leonard donned the robes of Romeo in Zeffirelli’s Romeo and Juliet that Whiting became a global icon! His last on-screen appearance was in 2015.
