Thelma Barlow, 91, Born In 1929 – Coronation Street
Thelma Barlow is a bonafide television queen. At the unbelievable age of 91, she’s still as gorgeous, talented, and sharp as ever, and she continues to work as an actress. Active since 1967, she rose to fame after portraying Mavis Wilton in the iconic British soap opera Coronation Street.
Barlow left the long-running TV show in 1997 but landed yet another classic role: playing Dolly Bellfield in the sitcom Dinnerladies. Most recently, she’s made it to Doctor Who (2007), Is Anybody There? (2008), and Florence Foster Jenkins (2016), a great comedy flick starring Meryl Streep and Hugh Grant.
