Ruta Lee, 85, Born In 1935 – Seven Brides For Seven Brothers
Ruta Lee gained her initial fame as one of the brides in the 1954 musical Seven Brides For Seven Brothers. She is also remembered for her guest appearance in the Twilight Zone and had other roles in films like Witness For Protection and Funny Face.
Lee was also Alex Trebek’s co-host on the game show High Rollers and made several guest appearances in shows like What’s My Line and Hollywood Squares. Besides her work in film in 1964, she also rescued her grandmother from an internment camp in Siberia by contacting Russian premier Nikita Khrushchev. She also rescued her cousin, who was stuck in Lithuania in 1987.
