Candy Clark’s breakout role as Debbie Dunham in George Lucas’s 1973 classic “American Graffiti” earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress, catapulting her into the Hollywood spotlight. She continued to captivate audiences with her performance as Mary-Lou in the 1976 sci-fi film “The Man Who Fell to Earth,” starring alongside David Bowie.
In June 2024, Candy was inducted into the Oklahoma Movie Hall of Fame, celebrating her contributions to the film industry and her Oklahoma roots. Additionally, she delighted fans by attending the TCM Classic Film Festival in April 2023, participating in a special screening of “American Graffiti” to commemorate its 50th anniversary.
