Jane Powell, 92 , Born In 1929 – A Date With Judy
Jane Powell got into the performing arts early in her life. She started taking dancing lessons when she was two years old, and at around five, she was taking singing lessons. It was these talents that won her competitions and, ultimately, a contract with MGM.
Once her foot was in the door, she never looked back. She had six film roles in her first few years with MGM and performed in theatre, radio, and TV. Her big early films include Three Daring Daughters and the lead in A Date With Judy, opposite her friend Elizabeth Taylor. Powell retired from acting in 2004.
