John Astin, 90, Born In 1930 – The Addams Family

Before being known as the famous father of the Lord of the Rings star Sean Astin, John Astin played dad to Wednesday and Pugsley on The Addams Family in the ‘60s. He reprised his role as the macabre clan’s patriarch in the show’s subsequent TV film and cartoon versions in the decades that followed.

While the world hasn’t had enough of the Addams Family just yet, Astin has moved on to play other roles since. You might have heard his familiar voice while watching The Wild Thornberrys or the Justice League Action series. A real-life professor, the 90-year-old also played a fictional one in Starship II: Rendezvous with Ramses.
