Generations of Star Trek fans forever love William Shatner. But did you know that he’s not one to watch himself on screen? Lucky for Shatner, his distinct voice is still sought-after, lending his booming vocals to animated works like The Steam Engines of Oz and To Your Last Death.

While he doesn’t like seeing himself as Captain Kirk, Shatner seems to have gotten some of the character’s heroic tendencies. The 89-year-old, whose compassion for animals isn’t limited to the horses he breeds, helped a Pennsylvania animal rescue get the equipment they needed in 2019.
