Michael Learned, 81, Born In 1939 – The Waltons

Michael Learned gained her fame playing the soft-spoken mother and wife Olivia Walton in the long-running series The Waltons. She has won four Primetime Emmy Awards for Oustanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series. This ties her for the most wins for that award with Tyne Daly.

Not all of those wins came for the Waltons, though, with one coming for her role in the medical drama, Nurse. Learned also had roles in soaps such as All My Children, One Life To Live, and The Young And The Restless, while she was on medical leave. She is set to feature in the 2021 documentary, Three Generations: The Women of Hollywood.
