Jimmy Lydon, 96, Born In 1923 – Gunsmoke
After his alcoholic father decided to retire during the Great Depression, Jimmy Lydon’s family struggled to survive. It was during this time that he tried to become an actor, and even though it was with a falsified resume, he managed to succeed.
Ever since Lydon’s work as an actor began in 1939, he has been very active until the very end, which was 1987 after he appeared on St. Elsewhere. Lydon is now 96 years old, and in retrospect, some of his most noted roles were on Tom Brown’s School Days, Gunsmoke, and Life with Father.
