“Why Wouldn’t Anyone Hug Me?”
Because of its competitive nature, soccer can be quite a sentimental game. Players who’ve lost a game or a cup tie can be so bereaved that even opposition players would try to console them with a greeting or hug. It looks like former Juventus midfielder, Claudio Marchisio, needed a hug so badly that he opted for the goal post when he couldn’t get one from a human.
What most likely happened, though, is that he missed a goal chance in the penalty area and couldn’t help but hold the net in disappointment. The player in the frame might have been hugging his goalkeeper for making a good save.
