A Delicate Cat

Although, Simina’s care did require a bit of additional work from the family, it was worth it in the end. The cat had to be cleaned twice daily and the gunk from her eyes needed to be cleaned out of them by Dasha and her mother. It was obvious that she was a dirty cat.

Since Simina had all that dirt and gunk on her, people who didn’t know her would constantly ask if she was from Chernobyl-or they’d call her something from a nightmare because of her appearance. The comments Dasha and her family heard for a long time did not change the way they felt about their cat, however.
