While Furiosa and Max went hand in hand to battle a tyrant, the actors, in reality, didn’t get along so well. It was hard, not just for the production team, but also for the stuntmen, who had to think of ways to teach the choreography without Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy being in the same room together.

In 2020, the co-stars opened up about the beef and owned up. Theron felt she could have been more empathetic toward the actor, given that he had some big shoes to fill in. Hardy also explained that he went over his head and that she probably needed a more experienced partner.
