Staying In the Loop

For the nanny, it’s important she keeps the parents in the loop—whether we’re talking about the children’s daily activities or instances of bad behavior, it’s a good practice to inform the parents about what’s going on in their kids’ lives.

The parents, for their part, must establish rules of engagement with the babysitter. This can include setting boundaries and what she can do in certain instances and where the two parties draw the line when dealing with various issues. Making notes about daily happenings and relaying these to the parents can help them resolve any complications once they reach home.
