That Familiar Feeling
Ask yourself, what does a baby do when it feels insecure or uncomfortable? It runs for its mother or grips her hand tightly. This is because, in an unfamiliar or uncomfortable situation, its mother’s touch feels familiar and thus makes the toddler feel more at ease.
The same concept can also be applied using children’s toys. To make them feel comfortable with a nanny, use their favorite household items. An example of this could be that the nanny reads them their favorite book before bedtime or plays with them with their favorite toys. Simple, right? Well, the next one is a tad bit more challenging.
