A Fresh Perspective
In Vicki’s own experience as a child, she had hated seeing her parents go to work in the mornings and be replaced by a nanny who, in her mind, could never take her parents’ place.
In her opinion, Vicki believed that Marie had been acting out because she believed her feelings or opinions on the matter were not being considered and may have felt hurt. This was her way of telling her mother that she did not want her to be replaced by a nanny. Maybe she wasn’t a problem child—maybe her behavior was, in fact, a cry for help.
