The Punishment

Nicole found her young son seated alone at the lunch table, surrounded by a cardboard partition referred to as a “confidential cubby.” As if that wasn’t bad enough, there was also a plastic cup with a large “D” written on the front, which stood for detention.

Of course, she knows what detention means, but she never imagined that for a 6-year-old, it was going to be this way. She couldn’t just wrap her head around it. She was livid that her child could be subjected to such a humiliating experience.
