Alternative to Detention
Students’ behavior may occasionally be deplorable. What should we do in such circumstances? Detention and other harsh sanctions, such as suspensions and expulsions, have been stated to have the potential to worsen existing problems, such as student recidivism. Additionally, they may have a detrimental impact on a student’s academic progress.
Employing logical consequences is advised. Instead of using severe discipline, the teacher calmly explains to the student how to fix their mistakes. Students gain power after the discussion because the instructor helps them reach an agreement.
