George W. Bush & Laura Bush – Married For 44 Years

It’s not every day that you get to see the son of a former president coming into the same position just a few years later. Well, that was the case with the 43rd United States President George W. Bush, whose father was the 41st.

Bush was engaged to Cathryn Lee Wolfman in 1967, but the relationship didn’t last. It may have been a blessing in disguise as he met Laura Welch at a backyard barbecue a decade later (1977). They had so much chemistry that they married later that year. As we know, they’re both notable figures in the world of politics, even after leaving the White House in 2009.
