Today’s Beauty Standards

It’s interesting to note that both the bride and groom did not fit today’s beauty standards. We expect men to be tall, physically fit, and sport a beard. At the same time, women must have flawless skin and slender bodies but with curves in the right places. Society is significantly harsher on women; we expect them to look young despite their age.

These ridiculous standards are harmful to both men and women, and they leave no room for individuality. Human beings are diverse, with different body types, skin tones, heights, and facial features. The pressure from society for people to look a certain way is immensely harmful to individuals.
