Shortly Before a Plane Crash

Flying to Santiago Chile from Montevideo, this group was in great spirits. Not long after taking this photo, the pilot miscalculated the flight path and the plane crashed into the Andes Mountain. Having to deal with the treacherous terrain, snow, and overall bad weather; the group resorted to cannibalism to survive.

Given that the aircraft was ferrying the Uruguayan national rugby team, search parties were called deployed. However the rescue efforts were called off after they bore no fruits, but two months later, a few of the players made it to a nearby village.
