Vlogger Unknowingly Snaps a Photo of a Crime Scene

Cyprus has several toxic lakes, and trapped sulfur causes the water in such areas to turn red. Sarah Funke, a vlogger, decided to take some snaps of one of these water bodies with her phone. She didn’t pay attention to the log-like structure floating in the water until a newspaper article she read years later gave her a shuddering realization.

In 2019, a Cyprus army captain confessed to dumping the bodies of three of his victims into a toxic lake. He put their remains inside suitcases and used cement blocks to weigh them down. That is what is seen in Funke’s photo.
