Explorer Henry Worsley’s Final Selfie
A British Army officer and explorer, Lieutenant Colonel Alastair Edward Henry took part in a successful Arctic expedition in 2009. In 2016, he wasn’t as lucky on his first solo attempt to cross the Arctic.
Worsley set out to set the record as the first man to achieve the feat of making it across the Antarctic on foot. He was only 69 days into his mission when he radioed for help with just 30 miles to complete the trek. This is the last photo he ever took, a selfie in his tent.
