Eerie Photo After the 1945 Hiroshima Bombing
Known as the “Blast Shadow ” or “ Human Shadow of Death,” it is sad to imagine the events that led to the creation of this permanent etching. It is thought to be the residue of an individual who sat at the entrance of the Sumitomo Bank when an atomic bomb dropped over Hiroshima.
The nuclear bomb hit the city during World War II, killing more than 140,000 people. The explosion also caused widespread fires that lasted for days. While Hiroshima has gone through tremendous changes, the devastating effects are felt to date.
