More Eerie Encounters
Montana Historical Society’s resident ghost expert, Ellen Baumler, shared spine-chilling stories about Garnet. The eerie silence of the winter nights in this ghost town was enough to send shivers down anyone’s spine. Visitors reported hearing ghostly piano tunes and witnessing otherworldly sights and sounds, heightening the town’s already hair-raising reputation.
In her book, “Montana Chillers,” Baumler wrote about the phantom fingers that played the piano at midnight, with the music floating eerily across the deserted buildings. According to her, Garnet’s winter months were particularly terrifying, with visitors reporting spine-chilling visions and sounds that seemed to come from beyond the living realm.
