To a stranger, the Caucasian Ovcharka can be fearless, confident, and fierce, but to its family, it is a soft, kind, and devoted pet. This is perhaps because they were originally bred to protect lands and guard farm animals back in the day.

Despite its massive size, it has cropped ears that may be too small for its body. If you plan on keeping one, remember that they have a tendency to be obese if the diet is not carefully considered. They can weigh up to 170 pounds!
