Chow Chow
Don’t be fooled: this is not a teddy bear nor a lion! This is a Chow Chow, which was originally bred in China as working dogs. In the Asian country, they are called “songshi quan,” but the name is actually a catch-all for anything that was from the East during the 18th century.
It is more than just its fluffiness; it has two extra teeth, making their set 44 instead of the usual 42! They also distinctively have a blue-black tongue, and the other breed to have this feature is the Chinese Shar-Pei. Unfortunately, they shouldn’t be submerged in water because their double coat could weigh them down, which could drown them.
