Fox Terriers

In 2019, the winner of Westminster’s Best In Show was a Fox Terrier named King. They are generally friendly dogs that love playing with kids because of their high energy level, which is why owners are advised to have them on leashes to avoid running away in parks.

Interestingly, they are bred to be hunting dogs, so despite their size, they wouldn’t back down immediately in front of a foe. Fox Terriers originated in England in the 18th century. The AKC calls them “natural comedians” because of their outgoing and amusing personality, perhaps because entertaining their owners is something of a goal of this breed.
