The Great Pyrenees
This fluffy breed is very old as it was believed to have been around since 3,000 B.C. The Great Pyrenees was intended to be a livestock guard dog, helping farmers in Pyrenees Mountains in Europe ward off bears and wolves. Because they have been trained to keep watch at night, they are naturally nocturnal.
The Great Pyrenees usually love barking at night, especially if there are unknown people in the vicinity, which makes them great family protectors, too! Apart from their noble jobs, this breed was also loved by the royals, more notably Queen Victoria, who owned one during the 19th century!
